  Description:
    Abstract:
      Data for this DEM were originally acquired and processed by
      Allison
      Graves, Nuna Technologies, for the American Samoa Land
      Grant
      Extension Program on May 1, 2001. The elevation data were
      derived
      from USGS Digital Elevation Models at the 1:24,000 scale.
      Dawn
      Wright then mosaiced the grids together in ArcInfo to
      create
      this single grid.
    Purpose:
      The grid should provide a nice detailed presentation of
      land elevation (base layer), possibly suitable for
      georeferencing or
      mosaicing with grids of offshore topography (bathymetry)
      produced from multibeam surveys done in May of 2001 for the
      Fagatele Bay National Marine Sanctuary, American Samoa.
