Option 1 - Term Paper
Option 2 - Project (simple GIS analyses and map series) - ONLY for experienced GIS users, and students must write short proposal first
Option 3 - Annotated Bibliography on the web
Choose which option you want by beginning of the THIRD WEEK of the term
Writeups for Paper and Project, or uploading of web site due by 5:00, the LAST FRIDAY of classes (Dead Week)

Indeed, please write your paper in a scientific report format, using objective language (i.e., not in the first person, which is generally unacceptable for professional scientific report writing or scholarly publication).

Term Paper - Suggested Format
Objective - clearly stated - not more than 2 principal objectives

Problem - brief statement of why your topic is important to your thesis and/or to your profession

Background - provide context of your problem in relation to previous work, unresolved problems, narrowing subject area to work on - Literature Review

Scientific Procedures:
- project design
- data collection procedures
- methods of analysis
- results anticipated

Management Procedures:
- task breakdown
- person-hour allocation table
- budget
