Ideas for Activities

-Check U of O website and other universitites to find out what other BGSA’s are doing

-Check out other BGSA websites, Black Cultural Center at OSU

-Check out National BGSA

-Paul James office may have money avaialble to send representatives from OSU BGSA to the National BGSA 2000 meeting

-Publish event and meeting notifications in Barometer (Shorna check on rates/ deadlines)

Winter Activity

-Want to do a major activity for Winter quarter and we brainstormed about ideas

-We don’t have the manpower to put on the Professional Developemnt Conference again, but want to do something else worthwhile

-We want to get more people involved; we will distribute a letter to all department heads informing them about BGSA and our purpose and activities and ask that they forward the letter to anyone they feel might be interested in participating in BGSA. (Ted preparing draft letter)

African Students Association

-Ted is checking with ASA to confirm the continued reciprocity between BGSA and ASA as far as dues and activities

-ASA is having Fun Friday Oct. 28 at 6:30, check with ASA for location

Soul Food Social

-Planned for Saturday, November 13 at Community Center at Ted’s Apartment Complex

-Informal get together to bring everyone together before the holidays
